Meeting minutes in Red
Call to Order– Mike Easton, USF18 Class Chairman
- Meeting called to order at 5:49 pm by Mike Easton
Area Reports-
Northern Area- John Bauldry
- CRAM and CRAW very active in Michigan and Wisconsin
- Northern area champs were held at the Central Coast Catamaran Championships regatta
- A strong event schedule is in place in Michigan and Wisconsin but weaker in other parts of the area
Southern Area- Dave Ingram
- Southern area champs at Spring Fever regatta
- New F18 perpetual trophy for the Steeplechase
Eastern Area- Jeff Dusek
- Eastern area champs at the Hyannis Regatta
- Strong summer series averaging 15+ boats at each event
- Held youth clinics with Sail Newport during spring training in April
Western Area- Dan DeLave
- No report given
Mid-Western Area- John Tomko
- After some tough seasons, seeing some new growth
- Looking forward to hosting F18 Nationals in Corpus Christi
Treasurers Report- Sandra Tartaglino
- Current balance $16,500
- Currently 95 class association members
Old Business-
- New fleet scales
- Motion passed to allocate funds towards the purchase of new fleet scales
- Youth development
- Ideas for youth development should be passed to Mike Easton or Jeff Dusek
- Measurement
New Business-
- 2014 Nationals Venue- Steve Piche, Corpus Christi Yacht Club
- Steve Piche presented bid for 2014 Nationals on behalf of Corpus Christi Yacht Club
- Planning to host third week of October in Corpus Bay
- CCYC has hosted several world class events including US Sailing Youth Champs, and Melges 24 Worlds
- Sailing will take place in a large bay approximately 20 mile circumference
- Anticipate 70-80° F and 10-15 knt SE breeze building to 15-20
- Hosting out of Radisson Hotel on North Beach
- Bid passed unanimously
- Proposed redistricting plan
- Western North District- Oregon and North
- Western South District- South of Oregon
- Plan to continue discussion about further division of Northern district
- Fleet development
- Website contributions
- Mike Easton expressed need for regatta reports from all districts
- Jeff Dusek will be happy to post reports to USF18.com (Jeff.dusek@gmail.com)
- Jeff Dusek expressed need to send regatta results to Alex Van Brunt for the national rankings list

- Worlds: Balyholme Yacht Club, Ireland, July 5-11
- If interested make sure to contact manufacturers with charter boat needs ASAP
