Donations to USF18

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has ruled that the United States Formula 18 Catamaran Class Association, Inc (Tax ID 86-3654877) is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) so donors can deduct contributions to the extent of the law. Payments to USF18 for services including membership, measurement, and sail number fees are not deductible.

Donations to USF18 will be used for the following:

  • Promote activities that have the potential to increase the number of participants in F18 racing,
  • Promote activities that improve the diversity of people racing F18s including by gender, race and age,
  • Support major F18 competitions within North America,
  • Support training activities to improve the skill level of US F18 sailors,
  • Support activities which improve the safety of our sport,
  • Subsidize boat transportation expenses to international competitions,
  • Special projects approved by the USF18 Board.

Payment Options

You can donate any amount through one of these options:

(1) If you have a PayPal account make a direct payment to treasurer@usf18.com.  Please type “Donation” or “Anonymous Donation” in the notes.

(2) Write a personal check to “USF18” with “Tax-deductible donation” in the memo field and mail to:

Steve Stroebel, 3319 Ingelow St, San Diego, CA 92106

(3) The easiest way is through this website via PayPal using a credit/debit card or your PayPal account. Since our payment tool only allows fixed amounts, we set the dollar amount to $50. In the shopping cart page you can adjust the quantity to match your giving preference. e.g. 5 x $50 = a $250 donation. Helpful Tip: If using a computer, on the cart page, you can type in the quantity and press enter rather than clicking the up arrow a dozen times.

If you would like your donation to be anonymous then click the “Anonymous Donation” option.
