The early bird registration discount ends on April 30th so register now for the great 2024 Americas Championship on San Francisco Bay out of Richmond Yacht Club.
We frequently complain about not enough wind at our regattas. Well, SF will almost guarantee good wind but we have also selected a time of year when there should not be excessive wind or waves. We are going to race on the east side of SF Bay and expect 8 – 22 knots with warm, sunny weather. The regatta planning is coming together with a great social calendar at an established yacht club with excellent facilities and we are planning for a live band at the keynote regatta dinner.
We also have $2,000 from our keynote sponsor for transportation subsidies for boats & teams traveling more than 1,500 miles. This money is on a first come first serve basis but no-one has qualified yet by paying their registration fee. See the NOR for details.
There will also be grants for women and youth teams to help them attend this event. A separate announcement will be sent shortly on the grants available or contact me directly.
Here is the key information:
– 4 days of racing from Sep 24-27 (Tue – Fri)
– 2 day warm-up regatta optional from Sep 21-22 (Sat – Sun)
– boat weigh-in starts on Fri Sep 20 and goes through Mon Sep 23
– on East side of SF Bay with three course areas options depending on the wind
– great club house facilities – all regatta events will be on-site
