2023 Annual General Meeting

The USF18 Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov 2nd at 8:00 pm Eastern Time via Zoom conference call.  Conference call link will be emailed one or two days before the meeting to all members of the USF18 Google Group. If you are not on the Google Group and desire to attend the AGM send an email to Steve91902@hotmail.com to request an invitation.

We will also be voting on a constitution change to modify the start of the officer term to Jan 1 instead of the traditional Dec 1. 

Anyone who desires to add agenda items please notify me no later than October 26, 2023.

• USF18 Class Rule Changes

  • Change minimum combined crew weight from 115 to 125 kg (253 to 275 lbs)
  • Set maximum amount of crew compensation weight at 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) [Current maximum is 17.5 kg (38.5 lbs) for a team at the minimum weight of 115 kg]
  • Allowing GPS enabled devices as portable equipment for all races
  • Change weighing of boats to exclude sails and set the minimum weight to 169 kg (372 lbs)
  • Change so that mast is not included in the mainsail area and reduce the maximum mainsail area to 15.25 sq meters (masts are 1.75 sq meters)
  • Change to rules regarding the sail cloth list.
