Fern Ridge Reservoir — Eugene, Oregon

Dear Multihull Sailors,
We invite you to participate in our 6th edition of the “Live on the Edge” Multihull Regatta at Fern Ridge Reservoir near Eugene, Oregon. The event is set for the weekend of June 9/10, 2012. With this date, we have moved back to a weekend after Memorial Day weekend to have warmer and windier conditions than the last two editions gave us earlier in the season.
Eugene Yacht Club has great facilities to spend a weekend racing. A great open lake with only one hill close by that can cause interesting wind shifts. Ample camping space on our lawns, including several RV sites with hookups. Clean restrooms and showers, washer and dryer and our friendly members that welcome all guests that come to participate and enjoy our lake. We have several launch ramps than can be used and boats are parked on grass when not sailed. Larger boats that stay in the water overnight can tie up to our guest dock. Of course all this is included with your registration, no hidden fees here!
Our Race Committee is very dedicated and experienced and has been able to run flawless races in past editions of the regatta, setting good courses to match the speeds in the various start groups (fleets) to get at least 6 races in the regatta for all the start groups (fleets). In addition to prizes for the fleet winners, we have the ”Live on the Edge Pennant”, awarded to the overall winner of the Regatta and the Team Cup, awarded to a Team (consisting of 4 regatta entries) based on their individual fleet scores (for details see Pennant Rules and Team Cup Rules).
Around the racing activities, we try to accommodate your non-racing “shore crew” with our facilities that includes a safe swim zone for children and a playground. During the weekend we offer various meals (see Registration Form for details) and post racing on Saturday night we will have our traditional and highly appreciated pizza dinner and exciting catamaran videos.
On Sunday afternoon we wrap it up no later than 4:00pm, to allow people that have to travel far can make it home that night.
Download the Notice of Race for more detailed information on the 2012 “Live on the Edge” Multihull Regatta. It offers alternative overnight options and the opportunity to combine participation in “Live on the Edge” with the EYC Memorial Day Regatta two weekends earlier.
We hope that you will be able to join us on June 9/10. Do not hesitate to contact us ( EYCMultihulls@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
