Little cats, medium cats and big cats all shared the water on San Francisco Bay on Sunday.  The AC Open event hosted the San Francisco F18 fleet on Sunday before and after the Louis Vitton Final when Emirates New Zealand defeated Luna Rossa to capture the LV Cup.  The SF local F18s launched right in front of fans at the AC Village on Marina Green and began practicing during the Red Bull AC45 practice session.  Sailiing for the fleet began at 11:40 for true stadium racing with Annie Gardener and Bill Billington providing the commentary. “Its pretty cool to hear someone commenting on your tack right as you go through it”, said Chris Meredith.  The combination of the Golden Gate peeking through the fog, the huge AC 72s charging right at you and hearing crowds of people cheering as you pass, made for the event of a lifetime.

We are so lucky to have the America’s Cup, especially this new stadium format, in our backyard.  Truly incredible.
